Effective date: March 10, 2026

This policy explains how Campus Scene uses email and other electronic communication, and our commitment to preventing spam and abusive messaging on the platform.

2. Purpose and scope

This Anti-Spam & Email Communication Policy applies to all emails and electronic messages sent by Campus Scene or through the Service, including notifications triggered by event organizers and campus administrators. It is intended to protect students, organizers, and partners from unwanted or abusive communication.

3. Zero tolerance for spam

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for spam. "Spam" includes any unsolicited, bulk, or deceptive messages, whether commercial or non-commercial, that are sent without appropriate consent or in violation of applicable laws or campus policies.

Users must not use Campus Scene to:

  • Send bulk emails or messages to recipients who have not opted in or reasonably expect to receive them.
  • Harvest or purchase email lists for use with Campus Scene.
  • Send misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive content or subject lines.
  • Promote activities or offerings unrelated to legitimate campus events, clubs, or communities.

4. Types of email we send

Campus Scene may send the following types of email and notifications:

  • Account and security emails, such as sign-in links, password resets, and security alerts.
  • Transactional emails, such as confirmations, reminders, and updates related to events you create, manage, or register for.
  • Product and feature updates, where permitted by law and your preferences, to help you get more value from the platform.
  • Campus and organizer communications, such as messages from verified organizers or campus administrators about events and initiatives relevant to you.

5. Consent and communication preferences

  • When you create an account or register for an event, you consent to receive necessary transactional and account-related communications.
  • Where required by law, we will only send promotional or marketing emails with your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
  • You can manage your communication preferences and unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the links provided in our messages, or through your account settings where available.

6. Responsibilities of organizers and campuses

Event organizers and campus administrators who use Campus Scene to contact attendees or members must:

  • Use email and messaging tools only for legitimate event, club, or campus-related purposes.
  • Respect attendee preferences and unsubscribe requests promptly.
  • Comply with applicable anti-spam and privacy laws, as well as campus policies.
